Blood Pressure Machines Available in West Haddon

Blood Pressure and Oximeter Machines Now Available at the Sports Pavilion

We are pleased to announce that residents can now check their blood pressure and blood oxygen levels free of charge at the Pavilion during café opening hours – see website / WHNews for details of opening times. These machines have been made available thanks to the generous funding of the Yelvertoft and District Relief in Sickness Charity, who worked closely with the Parish Council to make this community health initiative possible.

Maintaining awareness of your blood pressure is an important part of looking after your health. High blood pressure, often called the "silent killer," can go unnoticed but significantly increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other serious conditions. Frequent checks help you catch any concerning changes early and allow you to take appropriate action and preventative steps with the guidance and advice from your healthcare provider.

The oximeter machine, which measures the oxygen saturation in your blood, is also a helpful tool, particularly for those with respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, or recovering from illness.

We encourage everyone to make use of these machines, which are free to use, perhaps while enjoying a visit to the café. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, meeting a friend, or just stopping by, or taking a moment to check in on your health, it has never been easier.
